Vivienne Mackinder’s Five Faces of Fashion

Individual expression, personality, and fashion sensibility inspired Five Faces of Fashion, the collection born from a recent photoshoot workshop led in New York by internationally renowned hairstylist and educator Vivienne Mackinder.

“Each look makes its own statement, reflecting not just a style but a state of mind,” says Mackinder, the former Artistic Director for Vidal Sassoon and International Creative Director for Trevor Sorbie.

“The true value of what we do as hairdressers lies in our ability to place the right look on the right person — where great style completes, rather than competes.”

Collaborating with Mackinder at her Fall 2025 Live Photoshoot Workshop in NYC was prominent fashion and beauty photographer Joseph Cartwright to capture the looks created by workshop participants.

The five fashion stories were:

  • Rock & Roll — edgy, effortless, and impossibly cool;
  • Glamour — bubblegum pink confidence with a playful feminine twist;
  • Classic — dramatic, detailed, and timeless in every line;
  • Bohemian — free-spirited, relaxed, yet undeniably stylish; and
  • Romantic — soft, elegant, and exquisitely feminine.

“Each client who sits in our chair isn’t simply there for a grooming service,” Mackinder says. “They’re revealing their identity, story and mood. Our craft is not just about age or face shape, but about how each person wants to express themself to the world.”

The 2-day photoshoot workshop was the culmination of Vivienne Mackinder Education’s 6-week advanced styling course that wrapped with the live styling and photo session in Times Square.
