Get the Look: Selena Gomez’s Classic Hollywood Bridal Hair

Selena Gomez opted for classic movie-star glamour for her Sept. 27 wedding in Santa Barbara, CA to producer Benny Blanco, her dark brunette locks in a “flawless, timeless, healthy-looking Hollywood Glamour Marcel Bob,” says her stylist, Renato Campora.

The celebrity hairstylist shared his step-by-step process in a news release after Gomez and Blanco took to social media with soft-focus first looks of their wedding day.

Gomez set off her elegant, Grace Kelly-esque waved bob with Tiffany & Co. diamond drop earrings. Her glam: toasted ivory iridescent oval nails by longtime manicurist Tom Bachik, and luminous makeup featuring smokey eyes, delicately flushed cheeks, and a deep pink lip by celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanggo, using products from his eponymous makeup line and from the A-lister's own brand, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez.

The bride has styled her neck-length bob in a number of ways recently, soft-launching what would be her wedding style at the 2025 Oscars.

Step-by-Step Styling

1. “To ensure a flawless foundation, I began by washing her hair twice with the Protective Shampoo, followed by a 30-minute treatment with the Power Masque.

"This powerful combination resets the hair by removing buildup and thoroughly cleansing the hair. The result is hair that’s primed to absorb essential nutrients, reduce frizz, enhancing moisture, shine, strength and protection from heat styling.”

2. Next, Campora towel-dried and sectioned off her hair before applying 72HR Frizz Fighter for “long-lasting smoothness” before combing it. “Using a rat-tail comb, I created a deep side part and transitioned back to the nape of the neck, where I sectioned the hair into 2” sections.

“Each section is treated with Design Foam from roots to ends, then blow-dried with a large round brush and pinned to set and cool.

“I continued this technique across the entire head to achieve a voluminous and polished base. Once cooled, the hair is noticeably shiny, bouncy, and full of life.”

3. "I sprayed each section generously with Glossing Thermal Protector. Then, using a ¾” spring curling iron, I created a marcel wave pattern, pinning each curl to cool and hold its shape.

4. “After all curls have cooled for 20 minutes, I removed the pins and gently brushed through each section to blend the waves together. Special attention is given to the face-framing pieces, which are shaped to highlight and enhance the facial structure.”

5. Campora misted Gomez’s finished style with Joico’s unreleased Hold Hero High Hold & Shine Boosting Finishing Spray to lock in the look far into the evening.

For Gomez’s ceremony gown, the bride chose a custom ivory satin halter-neck Ralph Lauren ballgown with a low back, draped bodice, and satin skirt flowing into a long train. Delicate floral appliques, which echoed the lilies of the valley in the bride’s bouquet, embellished the high neckline.

Gomez later switched it up to a sheer, lace-and-crystal embroidered reception gown that shared similar design qualities as her first: a fitted corset-style bodice, hourglass silhouette, and sweeping train.
