Get the Look: Gigi Hadid's Met Gala Victory Rolls

Gigi Hadid was giving full pinup at the 2025 Met Gala with a retro 1940s Victory Rolls hairstyle complementing her custom Miu Miu gown.

Celebrity stylist Dimitris Giannetos created Hadid's glossy "boudoir curls" to complete the vintage-inspired glittering gold gown she requested as an homage to 1940s fashions by Black designer and costumer Zelda Wynn Valdes.

Stylist and wig artist Jennifer Covington-Bowers lays out how to create the iconic Victory Roll hairstyle below:

Products & Tools:  Volumizing spray (such as Hairstory's Lift), firm hold hairspray, hair dryer, flat clips, hairpins, comb, medium boar-bristle and nylon hairbrush (such as Mason Pearson), medium boar-bristle round brush.

Step by Step

1) Start with clean, damp hair. Section out the front of the hair from behind the ear and clip it away.

2) Take the back section and spray volumizer through the hair from roots to ends.

3) Take a round brush to dry the back section with over-direction. Once dry, roll under and use flat clips to pin curls under.

4) Use volumizing spray generously through the front section. Dry with round brush with over-direction to amplify the volume.

5) Take the front section and split into two sections to prepare your rolls.

6) Smooth and form front rolls with the Mason brush. Pin into place and apply hairspray.

7) Take flat clips out of the back. Smooth and roll under using hairspray and a Mason brush.
