Beyoncé's charitable fund for the beauty industry is back this year to award another half million dollars to salon and barbershop owners and cosmetology students.
It'll be the second $500K annual investment for grants, scholarships, and business resources awarded by the Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund, established in early 2024 when the superstar launched her Cécred hair-care brand.
Beyoncé and her mother, Tina Knowles, created the fund to nurture talent, support entrepreneurship, and empower professionals in the beauty industry.
Last year, it distributed $500K in grants and scholarships to 25 business owners and 25 cosmetology students in select areas of the U.S.
The fund has undergone a few tweaks. For this round, it will give $10K grants to 37 entrepreneurs and $10K scholarships to 13 beauty students. There is no geographical limitation for the business funding.
Salon and barbershop owners who meet these eligibility requirements can apply for grants through June 13, 2025:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed barber, hairstylist, or cosmetologist;
- Demonstrated financial hardship;
- Proof of salon or barbershop business ownership or a lease agreement for a salon, suite, booth, or chair;
- In business for at least 1 year.
“Through my years of experience as a stylist and salon owner, I know firsthand the importance of an empowered stylist and an inclusive learning environment," said Tina Knowles when announcing the fund's second iteration.
"We strive to uplift the professional hair industry and grow the salon community, while giving students and salon owners the tools they need to progress it forward.”
This year, $130K in scholarships will be awarded to students attending select cosmetology schools in Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Detroit, Los Angeles, and Goldsboro, NC. Scholarship program details are here.
