For its entry into the U.S. market, the British men’s grooming brand Slick Gorilla has turned to an all-American archetype as its spokesman: NFL quarterback Sam Hartman.
The Washington Commanders QB — or the “playmaker of style,” as the brand calls Hartman — is the latest professional athlete to endorse Slick Gorilla’s vegan, cruelty-free men’s grooming products.
Others have included Portugal National Soccer Team captain Cristiano Ronaldo, FC Barcelona player Pablo Gavi, and Welsh rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit.
The partnership with Slick Gorilla is “a perfect fit,” Hartman says. “Their brand stands for confidence, individuality, and authenticity — values I try to live by every day.”
Hartman’s “Get the Look” Instagram posts for the brand promotes its Hair Styling Powder, Sea Salt Spray, Cream Styler, and Lightwork hair clay.
Slick Gorilla was founded in Leeds, England, in 2016. By 2023, the brand had a cult following and its products were sold in more than 62 countries.
Its comprehensive men’s grooming line includes styling and care products and tools for hair and scalp; semi-permanent home hair color; after-shave cologne, and wholesale barber supply.
