Dyson has dropped its second hair-care line in a year, this time tapping into its own farms for a critical ingredient: sunflower oil.
The Dyson Omega Nourishing Collection, formulated to combat dry and brittle hair, is fortified with lightweight, ceramide-rich oil harvested from the brand’s 800,000-sunflower field in northeast England.
Ceramides are fatty acids naturally found in skin and hair, which act as a protective barrier.
The British tech giant says its agriculture branch, Dyson Farming, trialed more than 60 sunflower varieties to identify the one richest in natural ceramides.
The line launched with two treatments, and the brand says more Omega products are to come.
Besides sunflower oil, the Omega Leave-in Conditioning Spray and Hydrating Hair Oil use six other omega-rich oils (such as olive and avocado) in a proprietary blend to nourish and replenish dry hair.
The new line joins Dyson Beauty’s Chitosan styling collection, which launched in August 2024.
Dyson, which became a household name with its bagless, cordless vacuums before branching out into innovative hair tools, is also one of the UK’s biggest farm businesses.
Dyson Farming aims to modernize agriculture production with cutting-edge technology to improve sustainability, efficiency, and crop yields.
The brand’s farming branch also generates energy for thousands of UK homes by producing turbine-powering biogas from crops.
