The much-anticipated second collection from the Cécred hair-care brand is out: a five-product line dedicated to the care and maintenance of protective hairstyles.
The Protection Collection comes a year and a half after music icon Beyoncé Knowles-Carter founded Cécred, a prestige brand of rich, decadent products for hair and scalps needing moisture, balance, and damage repair.
In announcing the new line, Cécred says it addresses “a gap in the market” — care products for extensions, wigs, weaves, and styles such as braids, locs, and twists that tuck the hair away and protect it from external damage.
"I've worn my hair in many different ways throughout my career, including protective styles like wigs, weaves, extensions and braids," Beyoncé says. "I couldn't find anything that would make the take-down process easier or less damaging.
"Because the truth is, the take down matters just as much as the style itself. We focused on developing a line that could reduce the friction, pulling, and breakage that always happens."
Cécred says the Protection Collection's “high-performance formulas are designed for every stage of a style, helping to ease tension from the installation, keeping hair and scalp fresh and clean during maintenance, and delivering faster take downs."
The hero ingredient is the brand’s proprietary PhytoFerment, a soothing blend of bioactive CO2 extracts that are hydrated and fermented with purple willow bark. It's inspired by "the healing, cleansing and protective properties of herbalism.”

All products in the Protection Collection have the brand’s signature Nocturne Spice aroma: a sweet and spicy blend of pink pepper, vanilla, cardamom, tonka bean, and oud.
The line consists of:
- Scalp Refreshing Spray, a no-rinse cleanser that dissolves hard buildup and dead skin while neutralizing odor;
- Detangling Spray, a high-slip formula engineered to slide through knots and snarls, easing the untangling and take-down process while preventing breakage;
- Detoxifying Shampoo, a deep cleanser that eliminates buildup, oil, and impurities, in a blue-violet pigment to banish brassiness;
- Hair & Scalp Balm, a nourishing balm-to-oil treatment that deeply moisturizes and soothes;
- Oil Ritual, applied at room temperature or heated: a blend of 21 oils to restore dehydrated hair and nourish the scalp.
Beyoncé says the collection started with the Detangling Spray to address her own issues with take down. "I will never take my braids down without it," says the superstar, whose Instagram profile picture features her in blonde micro-braids.

"I saturate my hair with this, and the braids slide right out. My hair has never been healthier."
Her mother Tina Knowles, a hairstylist and the brand's Vice President, echoes the sentiment. "As someone who's spent decades behind the chair, I've seen protective styles not really 'protect' because of the way they're cared for and taken down," she says.
"We've worked with so many stylists and braiders throughout development, and knew we had something remarkable on our hands when the take-down process was happening significantly faster, with less shedding and breakage."
The Protection Collection comes in intense blue packaging in the shade of lapis lazuli, “Beyoncé’s and my favorite natural stone!” Knowles says. “It represents royalty and strength and connection.”
All the products are safe for natural and synthetic hair. The collection was available at launch on Cécred's website (where some products sold out within two days) ahead of a wider release via Ulta Beauty in September.
The new line comes after the brand released its inaugural eight-product Foundation Collection in February 2024, then a four-piece hair tools line in February 2025.
