Moroccanoil and the Professional Beauty Association have named the five cosmetology students chosen to receive $5K Moroccanoil Student Scholarships each to support their 2025 school year.
This year’s recipients were selected through a rigorous application and judging process designed to honor not only technical promise but passion, purpose, and potential.
All submissions were evaluated by a panel of licensed cosmetologists, salon owners, and educators, with each requirement scored individually to ensure a fair and balanced review.
Scholarship recipients were:
- Zeida Arceneaux (Englewood, CO): A future salon owner driven by a passion for inclusivity.
- Amber Candia (Gaithersburg, MD): An entrepreneurial student with roots in Paraguay, Amber plans to uplift underrepresented communities through beauty and business.
- Emily Ciavatta (Brooklyn, NY): After nearly a decade in corporate America, Emily took a leap of faith into cosmetology.
- Inaya Fulwood-Steward (Riverview, FL): A student fueled by resilience and purpose, Inaya describes the award as “a renewed sense of confidence” and a reminder that the beauty community is “supportive, selfless, and dedicated to uplifting the future of professionals.”
- Joseph Osborne (Muskegon, MI): Beginning his cosmetology journey later in life after a career in corporate banking, Joseph calls the scholarship a catalyst for embracing his “true calling.”
Cosmetology programs in the U.S. range between $10K-$20K, according to the American Association of Career Schools (2023).
Employment of licensed cosmetologists and barbers is projected to grow 7-8% from 2022 to 2032, faster than the average for all other occupations, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data shows.
